My Icelandic Dream: Building a More Hospitable Iceland

Hi everyone,
I'm Bjarndís, and I'm thrilled to finally share a project that's been burning in my heart for years: MIN Market. It's more than just a marketplace; it's a vision for a more welcoming and connected Iceland.
Have you ever felt like something was missing from the Icelandic tourism experience? I have. While Iceland's natural beauty is breathtaking, I believe we can do more to connect visitors with the heart of our culture and support the local communities that make Iceland so special. Our "Þjóðarsál".
Growing up in Iceland, I've always been passionate about fairness and creating opportunities for everyone. I've seen firsthand the challenges faced by local artisans and small businesses, and I believe tourism should benefit everyone, not just a select few. That's why I'm building MIN Market – a platform that empowers local creators, celebrates our unique culture, and creates meaningful connections between visitors and Icelanders.
For me, this isn't just about souvenirs. It's about creating meaningful connections between visitors and the heart of Iceland. It's about showcasing the incredible talent of local artisans, musicians, and creators. It's about making every visitor feel truly welcome and valued. It is also about keeping it real in the real economic world by creating a profit sharing platform to ensure that the driving force of it, the service providers get fairly compensated. A fair trade, for profit platform (keeping it real) that connects service providers with our visitors and creates games and events to promote them.
This is how I envision the MIN Market to work:
I believe that Iceland has the potential to be the most hospitable country in the world. And I believe MIN Market can play a key role in making that happen.
We've just launched a crowdfunding campaign on Karolinafund.com to bring this dream to life. Will you join me on this journey?
Every contribution, big or small, will help us build MIN Market and create a more authentic and welcoming experience for visitors to Iceland.
Thank you for believing in this vision.
Warmly,
Bjarndís
