Hi, I am Bjarndís Helena Hönnudóttir Mikaelsdóttir Mackinnon Mitchell (or Baddý, as I'm often called!)

I'm an Icelandic-Scottish entrepreneur with a global upbringing and a passion for travel, innovation, and sustainability. Born in Vestmannaeyjar, Iceland, I spent my childhood exploring diverse cultures in Iceland, England, and Kenya. This global exposure instilled in me a deep appreciation for different perspectives, shaping my entrepreneurial spirit and desire to connect people worldwide.

My entrepreneurial journey began with Handlers, a company dedicated to crafting custom dog leads. Our commitment to quality and innovation earned us recognition from the American Pet Association and the Global and European Women Inventors and Innovators Network. This experience taught me the importance of building a strong brand and delivering a high-quality product.

Driven by a desire to further my business acumen, I pursued a Diploma in Entrepreneurship from Viðskiptasmiðjan Klak and delved into the world of behavioral economics through online courses from renowned schools like MIT and Duke University. In 2013, I proudly earned an Honor Code Certificate from the University of Toronto. These studies have given me the tools to think strategically and understand the motivations behind consumer behavior.

Now, I'm embarking on my most ambitious project yet: MIN Market. It's more than just a marketplace; it's a vision for a more welcoming and connected Iceland. I'm building a platform that will connect visitors with the heart of Icelandic culture by offering personalized Icelandic aliases, unique keepsakes from local artists and creators, and engaging experiences. Fun and games.

My goal is to enhance the tourist experience while supporting local communities and promoting sustainable practices. I believe that by connecting visitors with authentic Icelandic people and things, we can foster a deeper appreciation for our culture and encourage responsible travel. MIN Market will also provide a platform for local artisans, musicians, and creators to showcase their talents and reach a wider audience.

I'm passionate about creating a more hospitable Iceland, where every visitor feels welcome and valued. I believe that MIN Market can play a key role in making that happen. Join me on this journey as we build a more connected and sustainable future for Icelandic tourism!
